swift-img1What is Swift?

Swift is a brand new concept that uses microwave energy to treat verrucae in a very controlled and precise way. It is the most effective treatment for verrucae on the market*. Treatment takes up to 10 seconds per verruca and there are no anaesthetic or dressings required, which means you can continue your everyday activities immediately.

How does it work?

Microwave energy is delivered directly to the site of the verruca using a hand-held probe. It sends microwaves to a precise and predetermined depth leaving surrounding tissue undamaged. It targets water molecules within the skin, creating heat. This activates an immune response, which destroys the infected cells.

Check out the video below for some more information on how Swift Verruca Treatment works:

Are microwaves safe?

Microwaves have been used in clinics for over 30 years, particularly in the fields of cancer and tumour treatment. Microwaves are a form of non-ionising radiation, which means they cannot cause damage to the DNA of living things. Aside from kitchen appliances, microwaves are used in a number of every day devices including wifi, mobile phones and bluetooth.

Does it hurt?

Verruca treatment with Swift is extremely quick and requires no dressings, causing minimal disruption to your day. This also means that you don’t need to keep your foot dry in the bath or shower. The procedure lasts just seconds. Some people experience discomfort during this time, likened to a bee sting. It lasts for such a short time, most people have no awareness of the treatment after about 2 or 3 minutes. We also adjust the power levels to help with this if needed.

Having noticed a couple of verrucas on my foot I decided to take action and visit a chiropodist. They undertook a schedule of traditional methods to remove the verrucas. The 2 issues with this was that i) the verrucas didn’t appear to be going away ii) having to keep my foot dry for 3 days after the treatment. After many sessions over a 6 month period I had had enough and decided to try Eclipse Foot clinic with their new Swift Microwave therapy to remove them for once and for all.

After the 1st session I could see some improvement. I had 3 sessions in total after which I couldn’t see the verrucas anymore. I went back after 10 weeks at the prescribed time for the final check and was informed they had completely gone.

Looking back I wish I had now just gone to Eclipse foot clinic to begin with as it would have been cheaper and quicker in the long run as well as being more convenient in regards to keeping my foot dry.

Overall, the Swift Microwave therapy by Eclipse Foot Clinic works very well and I can definitely recommend it.
